Shopify was founded in 2006 in Ottawa, Canada, and is today one of the world's largest SaaS-based e-commerce infrastructure providers. Publicly traded on the NYSE under the ticker SHOP, the company serves around 4 million active merchants in more than 175 countries.
Beyond its core platform, Shopify offers Shopify Plus for enterprise merchants, Shopify Payments as its payment infrastructure, Shopify POS for in-store point-of-sale, and a comprehensive API plus theme and app ecosystem for developers. Shopify Markets provides built-in support for multiple countries and languages.
Its customer base spans entrepreneurs launching their first online store to multinational D2C brands such as Allbirds and Gymshark. In Turkey as well, it is one of the platforms local brands prefer for international sales.
